The Caribbean Cardiac Conference 2024 is scheduled to be held at the Hilton Barbados Resort, Bridgetown, Barbados, July 25th-28th.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in our Caribbean region and indeed, worldwide. Our region holds the dubious honour of leading the Americas as far as CVD rates. We in the Caribbean Cardiac Society (CCS) are determined to raise awareness of CVD rates and to ensure that our cardiology community is equipped to handle the rising tide of CVD. Our annual conference is designed to assist with this mission. We held our first post-pandemic conference in Jamaica last year with support from our many stakeholders, and we once again invite your assistance with ensuring that we can continue our mission.
Our conference theme is: Caribbean Cardiology: Moving forward, Staying Current.
The conference will be divided into tracks with the following proposed:
1. Cardiac rehab and cardiometabolic medicine
2. Paediatric and structural heart disease
3. Ischaemic heart disease
4. Heart failure
5. Electrophysiology
6. New kids on the block: Cardio-oncology and cardio-obstetrics
7. Just for fun/ Digital health and AI
8. Hypertension and renal disease in cardiology
The audience will include Cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, internists, primary care physicians, medical students and other affiliated health professionals including nurses and technicians. In addition to the main conference, we will also have an ECG workshop aimed primarily at the local medical community, and our annual Interventional Roundtable which has proven to be extremely beneficial in the past.

Crop Over Time!
It’s Crop Over time in Barbados so attendees get to experience the conference and a whole host of Barbadian culture!
Crop Over Festival, celebrated annually, is a 200 year-old tradition that honours the end of the sugar cane season. The festival celebrates all that is Bajan with dusk till dawn parties, art and craft markets and culinary-driven street fairs.
The Crop Over Season culminates with Grand Kadooment Day, where masquerade bands make their way to Mighty Grynner Highway with revellers dressed in sequin costumes decorated with colourful feathers, jewels and bright accents; dancing behind music trucks with bars playing the best of calypso music.
Don’t miss out this year on Barbados’ sweetest summer festival!
